Description
English: Memorial burial plaque dedicated to Léopold-Marc de Ligniville, Ducal Chapel of San Liborio in Colorno. - For the honor and virtue of the Marquis Lorraine de Ligneville, commander of the infantry in the army of Emperor Charles VI, who at the calends of June 1734, in Colorno near the royal orchard following an attack of his artillery against the French army, while on the spot prepares to hunt the enemy, immediately died, hit by a catapult fireball. Now its ashes, under the command of the Duke I.P.P.V. Ferdinand, transported from the Chapel of San Liborio to this Temple, which he had recently built, rest in a more dignified tomb. 1777
Italiano: Lapide sepolcrale commemorativa dedicata a Léopold-Marc de Ligniville, Cappella Ducale di San Liborio a Colorno. - Per l’onore e la virtù del marchese lorenese de Ligneville, comandante della fanteria nell’esercito dell’imperatore Carlo VI, che alle calende di giugno 1734, a Colorno nei pressi del frutteto reale a seguito di un attacco della sua artiglieria contro l’esercito francese, mentre in loco si prepara a cacciare il nemico, subito morì, colpito da una palla di fuoco di catapulta. Ora le sue ceneri, su comando del Duca I.P.P.V. Ferdinando, trasportate dalla Cappella di San Liborio a questo Tempio, da lui stesso recentemente costruito, riposano in una tomba più dignitosa. 1777
