Description
English: Structural elements on the eastern (downstream) side of the Laughery Creek Bridge, which formerly carried State Road 56 over Laughery Creek north of Rising Sun, Indiana, United States. The structural elements pictured here make the bridge a "single span pin connected triple intersection Pratt through truss" bridge — it is the only extant bridge worldwide with this design. This photo is taken from near the southern end of the bridge, which is in Randolph Township in Ohio County; the northern end of the bridge is located in Center Township in Dearborn County. Built in 1868, the bridge is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
