Description

Le Blanc (Indre).

Le Moulin de la Filature.

Le moulin sur la Creuse fut au Moyen-Âge un moulin à blé.

Au XIXe siècle, il fut transformé en filature de lin, en suivant l'expérience anglaise. En 1834,un industriel, De Coster, se rendit en Angleterre pour s'initier à tous les mystère de la fabrication. De Coster ouvrit, à Paris, un atelier spécial. Peu de temps après, un certain M. Gachet, du Blanc, commandait aux établissements De Coster 3440 broches nécessaires au fonctionnement d'une filature. La filature du Blanc compta jusqu'à 400 ouvriers.

Le moulin a été récemment réhabilité en salle de spectacles et d'expositions.
