Description
Français : Dans le Hoggar, au nord de Tamanrasset, l'Atakor est un plateau volcanique de forme presque circulaire dont la hauteur moyenne est de 2000 mètres.L'Atakor est le massif le plus élevé du Hoggar. Hérissé de pitons renommés qui culminent à 2900 m près du sommet de l'Assekrem, il offre une variété étonnante de formes et de couleurs. Au fond des canyons se nichent des Gueltas, vasques naturelles d'eau limpide, et des gravures rupestres, témoins de la civilisation millénaire du Hoggar. Ces sommets sont constitués par d'anciennes cheminées de volcans dégagées par l'érosion.
