Description

Allée principale du jardin (clos normand) de la maison de Claude Monet, acquise par lui en 1883 Cette maison a été léguée à l'Académie des beaux-arts (Institut de France) par Michel Monet, fils de l'artiste, et disparu en 1966. C'est Gérald Van der Kemp qui, avec son épouse Florence et le soutien d'importants mécènes américains et français, a commencé à restaurer la maison en 1997, avant l'ouverture au public. Des reproductions d'oeuvres d'art et d'estampes japonaises qui appartenaient à Claude Monet ont été replacées aux murs dans le respect des places que l'artiste avait choisies pour elles.
