Inauguré en 1997, le musée Guggenheim de Bilbao a été conçu par l'architecte américain Frank O. Gehry. Situé au bord de la ria de Bilbao, il a transformé, en dix ans, l'image de cette ville du pays basque, frappée par la crise industrielle. Il présente des collections d'art contemporain et des expositions temporaires de niveau international.
