Costumes traditionnels dans une des salles du musée d'ethnographie et de la broderie dans les bâtiments du harem

Sitori-i-Mokhi Khosa (Sitoraï Mokhi-Khossa) : "le palais de la lune et des étoiles" était la résidence d'été des derniers Emirs de Boukhra. Il est situé à 4 km au nord de Boukhara.

Il s'agit d'une construction récente, commencée à la fin du 19ème siècle par l'Emir Akhad Khan, puis étendue en 1911-1914 par son fils Alim Khan avec le soutien des Russes et sous leur influence.

Le dernier Emir a été renversé par les Soviétiques en 1920, il est mort en exil.

Le style du palais d'été est composite, associant l'architecture russe à des éléments décoratifs de l'Asie centrale. L'architecte principal était Ousto Khodja Khafiz.

Le palais comprend trois corps de bâtiments qui ont été transformés en musées : les appartements et salles de réception (musée des arts appliqués), le palais octogonal pour les invités (musée des costumes) et le harem (musée d'ethnographie et de la broderie).
