Sun & Sea (Marina) Opéra-performance pour 13 voix Rugile Barzdziukaite, Vaiva Grainyte et Lina Lapelyte Commissaire : Lucia Pietroiusti Production : Neon Realism Le pavillon national de la Lituanie a reçu le Lion d'or 2019 pour les pavillons nationaux. L'opéra implique 35 chanteurs et figurants qui sont en vacances sur une plage quelque part dans le monde. Leurs chants, en solo ou en choeur, font état d'évènements climatiques liés au réchauffement climatique, à la montée des eaux, à la disparition d'une partie de la faune et de la flore et à la pollution généralisée ce qui ne les empêche pas pour autant de continuer à prendre l'avion et à partir dans de nombreux pays pour profiter de la vie. Une grande insousiance règne dans ce groupe à l'image de notre société toute entière qui ne prend pas suffisamment au sérieux le réchauffement de la planète Les contenus de l'opéra comme le travail artistique et l'originalité de la scénographie ont permis à juste titre au pavillon de la Lituanie de recevoir la plus haute distinction de la Biennale. Certains critiques d'art ont néanmoins considéré que, malgré la qualité de la performance, il s'agissait de spectacle vivant et qu'en ce sens la compétition était faussée avec des pavillons exposant des oeuvres d'art plastique. Autre problème, la fréquence des représentations est hebdomadaire en raison du coût élevé de la production, ce qui limite fortement le nombre de visiteurs qui peuvent assister au spectacle et engendre un temps d'attente important.
