[edit]DescriptionLegend of the Castle of Monetier.png |
English: Wood engraving illustration of a poem in the form of a frame around its initial verses. Once a Week magazine, volume 10, page 14. page The poem is "Legend of the Castle of Monetier" by Sarah T. Bolton. The legend says a baron of Monetier married a lady by force while her real love was on crusade. When the knight returned, he attacked the castle and killed the baron, but the lady, not wanting to meet her knight when no longer innocent, leaped from a window. The picture shows the battle and the leap in non-geometrically-realistic proximity to each other. |
