Lens compression is when, as zoom increases, background objects appear bigger and closer to foreground objects

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Lens compression is a natural consequence of geometry. Keep a foreground object the same size in two images, one made from close up with a wide angle lens, and the other from far away with a telephoto. The background object will appear bigger, closer in the telephoto image.
