Summary[edit]

Description Front cover of Les Fait-Divers Illustrés magazine. It attempts (somewhat inaccurately) to illustrate a scene from the events culminating in a murder case, concerning Vere Thomas St Leger Goold (1853–1909), an Irish-born descendant of the Goold Baronets, a tennis player, and a convicted accessory to murder, who was incarcerated on Devil's Island, and died there.
