Rhymes with Play Girls (as the ads said). Gene Kelly and Taina Elg. More a witty and involved screenplay with songs than a full-blown musical. Most (but not all) of the numbers are performed in theatrical settings. Kelly's last MGM musical, Cole Porter's next to last score. Directed by George Cukor. Here Kelly and Elg rehearse a modernistic dance number to a modernistic arrangement of Ca C'est L'Amour, the score's best song. EXPLORE |
