Les Moutiers-en-Retz (Loire-Atlantique) La chapelle de Prigny (anciennement église Saint-Jean-le-Baptiste). La chapelle est de style roman et date du XIe siècle. Les armoieries au dessus de la porte ont été martelées à la Révolution, ce qui rend l'identification difficile. Contrairement aux églises de cette période, celle-ci n'est pas orientée*. Elle est construite Nord-Sud. En 1038, est fondé aux Moutiers-en-Retz, par le viguier* Judicaël et sa femme Adénor, un prieuré qui est donné à Notre-Dame du Ronceray d'Angers d'où étaient originaires les premières sœurs. (C'était la première église de Moutiers-en-Retz). La chapelle est perchée sur un oppidum qui permettait de surveiller la baie, aujourd'hui devenue le marais breton.
The chapel is Romanesque and dates from the nineteenth century. The armoieries above the door were damaged during the Revolution, identification is difficult. This chapel is oriented north-south. In 1038, founded a priory is to Moutiers-en-Retz, the provost Judicaël and his wife Adenor. This priory is given to Our Lady of Ronceray in Angers which were from the first sisters. (It was the first church of Moutiers-en-Retz). The chapel is perched on a oppidum overlooking the bay, today became the Breton Marshes. |
