Description

This is a white wooden tapered square lighthouse stands 6.7 meters (22ft) high and displays a fixed green light from its red lantern, it was built and lit in 1889.

The lighthouse is located in Belliveau Cove and sits at the end of the wharf that extends into the harbor. The cove is on St. Mary's Bay, Digby Neck can be seen in the distance.

Belliveau Cove Lighthouse was discontinued in the 1970s, but a community group has restored and maintains the tower and the light as a private navigational aid.

The large tides in the area cause boats moored at the wharf to be on dry land at low tide. There is a 5 kilometers (3.1 miles) shoreline walking trail nearby that provides good views of the village, shoreline and wetlands.

Light Type: Pierhead Light Location: On eastern pierhead, north shore of cove Structure Type: Tapered square wood tower, white, red lantern. Tower Height: 6.7 meters (22ft) high.

Light Height: 7.31 meters (24ft) above water level.
