Summary

[edit]
Description
English: This lintel is finely carved and shows a god or goddess seated upon a kala and carrying a lotus. The kala has a pointed tongue (or beard), and grasps the rear legs of two composite animals. Each animal appears associated with two heads: an animal head issues from the garland, while a human head seems to "ride" behind the animal head. The carving of this part is unclear, so that it is hard to know what the artist intended.
