Italiano: Cannocchiale realizzato da Giovanni Battista Rodella tra il 1800 e il 1825, e acquistato dal prof. Francesco Maria Franceschinis per il Gabinetto di Geodesia dell'Università di Padova nel 1830.
Lo strumento è composto da un cannocchiale orizzontale montato in modo tale da poter ruotare liberamente. Sotto il cannocchiale è montata una livella a bolla dotata di scala graduata che permette la corretta messa in posizione dello strumento; tre viti calanti, inserite nella base circolare dello strumento, consentivano all'operatore di ottenere la massima precisione nello stazionamento. Come riportato dall’inventario del Gabinetto di Geodesia, lo strumento era stato acquisito dal Prof. Francesco Maria Franceschinis nel 1830 ed era poi stato dichiarato inservibile dai prof. Carlo Conti e Domenico Turazza . Fu poi restaurato nel 1872. Salvatore Dal Negro inserisce nell'inventario del Gabinetto di Fisica del 1825 “Un Livello di ottone a bolla d'aria con cannocchiale, costrutto dal macchinista Rodella”, livello che poi scompare nei successivi inventari. Lo strumeno potrebbe quindi essere stato dato dallo stesso Dal Negro a Franceschinis. |
