Description
English: Water tower, boiler station and chimney of the former city slaughterhouse in the Poljane district of Ljubljana. Built in 1881 (arch. Adolf Wagner), this slaughterhouse was an inspiration for a similar slaughterhouse in Munich (München), built in 1885. In 1927 it was expanded and modernised by Škoda Works (Škodovy závody) from Plzeň. The slaughterhouse was abandoned in 1990s, later it was partly demolished, in 2000s a Mercator supermarket was arranged in the main hall.

Entered into the national register of immovable cultural heritage, nr. 15576. More details (in Slovenian).

Slovenščina: Vodni stolp, kotlovnica in dimnik nekdanje mestne klavnice v Poljanah. Zgrajena leta 1881 po načrtih arhitekta Adolfa Wagnerja, po nejnem navdihu so leta 1885 zgradili podobno klavnico v Münchnu. Leta 1927 jo je podjetje Škodovy závody iz Plzna povečalo in moderniziralo. Klavnico so opustili v 90. letih, po poldrugem desetletju so jo delno porušili, v nekdanji glavni hali so uredili Mercatorjevo prodajalno.
