Summary

[edit]
Description There used to be exact duplicates of these at all lock stations. The lockmaster had his bedroom on the second floor. When wakened by the sound of a ship's horn at night, he was required to operate the lock for it. The locks only operate in daytime now. Only three examples of this house design on the Waterway remain.
