Summary[edit]

Description
English: This is a sketch of the plasma geometry and magnetic coils inside Lockheed Martins' compact fusion reactor. It is taken from: McGuire, Thomas. "The Lockheed Martin Compact Fusion Reactor." Thursday Colloquium. Princeton University, Princeton. 6 Aug. 2015. Lecture. It is not an exact copy. The design attempts to reduce plasma losses inside sharply bent fields. The cusp geometry attempts to reduce the area where plasma will leak out by limiting loss through the edges and axis of the cusps. The design also attempts to reflux loss from edges to other cusps.

This physics image could be re-created using vector graphics as an SVG file. This has several advantages; see Commons:Media for cleanup for more information. If an SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with {{vector version available|new image name}}.

It is recommended to name the SVG file “Lockheed Martins' Compact Fusion Reactor.svg”—then the template Vector version available (or Vva) does not need the new image name parameter.
