Description
English: Locust Lane in East Hills, Long Island, New York on October 13, 2021, looking south. The Long Island Expressway overpass over Locust Lane is visible in the background. When the Long Island Expressway was built through the area, many locals wanted it to go under Locust Lane as opposed to over it; they were concerned that having an overpass would make it less safe for children to walk to/from Roslyn Middle School (then Roslyn Junior High School) on the opposite side of the highway.
