Dear Committee, I'm rushing to notify you about my today's encounter: Where: Chandos Place, City of Westminster, London When: early afternoon, 7th of September 2012 What: Driver of one of the BMW vehicles that belong to the London 2012 Organising Committee parked opposite of the Wahaca Covent Garden restaurant was having a nap with the driver's window fully open and the engine happily idling. I was observing the driver for nearly 15 minutes. No passengers were getting in or out from the vehicle. Clearly, the driver had been waiting there for longer time with the engine idling constantly. I attached photo of the vehicle with its napping driver. I assume the London 2012 Organising Committee does not give a damn about minimalism its CO2 footprint, not to mention the Mayor's anti-idling campaign launched in January 2012. There are thousands of careless drivers idling over the London every day. Shame the London 2012 organisers joined that 'credible' party. Happy breathing! Best regards, Mateusz Loskot |
