Summary

[edit]
Description A longitudinal joint occurs at about half the bridge span width where the deck panels join; as seen this allowed two phases and accommodated traffic during construction. Where the panels met near the bridge centerline, concrete was cast to join the two halves of the bridge deck as part of an FHWA, Highways for LIFE supported Iowa DOT bridge reconstruction project.
