Español: Aquel mismo día, dos de ellos iban caminando a una aldea llamada Emaús, distante de Jerusalén a unos sesenta estadios. Evangelio de Lucas. Cara interior del machón noroeste del claustro inferior del Monasterio de Santo Domingo de Silos. El primer maestro, a finales del siglo XI, esculpe el bajo relieve con esquema compositivo y perfección artística incuestionable, valorado entre lo mejor del arte románico. El hieratismo de sus figuras se confunde con la plasticidad y el movimiento, consiguiendo transmitir el mensaje evangélico al observante. |
