Description
English: Louis Sloss (1823–1902), Kingdom of Bavaria-born American, businessperson in San Francisco, California "Louis Sloss, Alaska Commercial Co." Sloss came to California in 1849 and became one of the business leaders in San Francisco, principally with the Alaska Commercial Company. Sloss was also a member of the 1895 Board of Freeholders who drew up and attempted to pass a new City Charter that year. Louis Sloss was the father of Superior Court Judge Marcus C. Sloss.
