Description

"Low profile" , by Erik Pevernagie, oil on canvas, 100 x 80 cm

Keeping a low profile does not allow passion or excitement, unless it is restrained. Lying low does definitely not stand any limelight.

Staying away from the madding crowd helps keeping a low profile and avoiding troubles when violent social outbursts are about to arise or when controversial decisions are going to be taken.

Keeping a low profile and remaining inconspicuous is interpreted by some as a sign of haughtiness or misunderstood as introversion.

Some people fit a certain profile out of inferiority. Others lift their profile out of envy.

The bigger we are, the harder we fall. Despite its hazards some keep on raising their narcissistic profile, wishing to be in the picture all the time, everywhere and at any cost.
