Summary[edit]

Description Caterpillars by the dozen appeared on my prized new lupine in May 2009. But I planted it in part because it was known to attract butterflies, so I waited to see what would happen. All disappeared within a few weeks, none pupated. Birds probably ate them. And that's OK too, because I also wanted my garden to attract birds!
