MÉMORIAL DE LA GUERRE DE SEPT ANS

« Entre 1755 et 1760, la Guerre de Sept Ans fit plus de 2 500 morts à Québec. Sur ce nombre, au moins 1 058 soldats et marins, surtout Français, mais également Canadiens, Acadiens, Amérindiens et Britanniques, confiés aux soins des Augustines de l'Hôpital général succombèrent à leurs blessures ou à la maladie.
Selon la coutume de l'époque, ils furent inhumés dans des fosses communes dans ce cimetière et aux alentours. Ce mémorial, que domine l'œuvre de Pascale Archambault, Traversée sans retour, rappelle leurs noms.
Inauguré le 11 octobre 2001 par le premier ministre du Québec, Monsieur Bernard Landry.»
