| Description |
English: The so-called “coin frieze” (Münzfries) is a relief that the sculptor Johann Gottfried Schadow created based on a design by Friedrich Gilly and which was originally intended to decorate the outer walls of the Berlin mint on Werderscher Markt, which was built between 1798 and 1800. After an eventful fate, the original of the coin frieze is now stored in a depot under the national monument on Berlin's Kreuzberg. A copy is in the Mühlendamm 3 building in Berlin.
This is one of a set of p[ictures taken of that copy. As it is very lengthy, elements were photographed first (the ones with a number ending on “c”). Then sets of them were “merged”, named links, mitte and rechts. These were then merged into one very large “panoramic” picture. All editing was done by computer, the result can be seen as a true picture of the whole. Some files are large and can best be appreciated at the highest resolution.
Deutsch: Der sogenannte „Münzfries“ ist ein Relief, das der Bildhauer Johann Gottfried Schadow nach einem Entwurf von Friedrich Gilly geschaffen hat und das ursprünglich die Außenwände der zwischen 1798 und 1800 erbauten Berliner Münzstätte am Werderschen Markt schmücken sollte. Nach einem wechselvollen Schicksal lagert das Original des Münzfrieses heute in einem Depot unter dem Nationaldenkmal auf dem Berliner Kreuzberg. Eine Kopie befindet sich im Gebäude Mühlendamm 3 in Berlin.
Dies ist eines aus einer Reihe von Bildern, die von dieser Kopie aufgenommen wurden. Da es sehr lang ist, wurden zuerst Elemente fotografiert (die mit einer Nummer, die auf „c“ endet). Dann wurden Sets von ihnen „zusammengeführt“, benannt "links", "mitte" und "rechts". Diese wurden dann zu einem sehr großen „Panorama“-Bild zusammengefügt. Alle Bearbeitungen wurden am Computer vorgenommen, das Ergebnis kann als echtes Bild des Ganzen angesehen werden. Einige Dateien sind groß und können am besten in der höchsten Auflösung angezeigt werden. |
