| Description |
Italiano: Basilio Anito, "Veduta dello edifizio del nuovo Regal Museo Generale" (in Società Napoletana di Storia Patria, Napoli). Il disegno mostra l'edificio dell'odierno Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Napoli. Si nota nell'angolo destro a monte, la torretta dell'osservatorio astronomico, progettato dall'astronomo Giuseppe Cassella (1755-1808), la cui costruzione era stata avviata ma presto sospesa sia per gli eventi rivoluzionari del 1799 che soprattutto per la posizione dell'edificio troppo infossata e quindi poco adatta ad un osservatorio astronomico; che difatti fu dapprima spostato nel 1807 sul Belvedere delle Monache di San Gaudioso, ed infine realizzato nel 1819 sulla collina di Capodimonte. |
