Description

Italiano: I giardini murati nascono, quando Policoro era un immenso feudo baronale, parte della cornice di verde che circondava la sovrastante zona del castello, residenza nobiliare del barone Berlingieri .

Il suo nome è legato alla presenza del muro di mattoni rossi che li delimitava, oggi completamente ricostruito . L'area è sempre stata caratterizzata dalla presenza di acque sorgive, che ancora sgorgano abbondantemente ed alimentano la nuova fontana. un residuo di antico acquedotto corre, su cinque suggestive arcate in mattoni.

Oggi i Giardini Murati sono la sede dei tanti eventi organizzati soprattutto nel periodo estivo, manifestazioni teatrali, rassegne musicali e sfilate di moda, ma anche un luogo di ritrovo immerso nel verde della natura.
