Description
Español: Locomotora 030-2013 MZA 246 Mamut | Año 1857 | Reino Unido | 422 CV | 50 Km/h.
La Mamut es, después de la Martorell, la locomotora más antigua del país. Fueron las primeras locomotoras de vapor mixtas adquiridas por la compañía MZA para remolcar tanto trenes de viajeros como de mercancías. De las 70 locomotoras que componen la serie, 30 fueron fabricadas en Francia y el resto en el Reino Unido. Su considerable potencia para mediados del siglo XIX le hizo valer el sobrenombre de Mamut. Este vehículo fue el primero de los ferrocarriles españoles en cumplir 100 años de servicio, alcanzando un total de 106 años de vida activa. Como homenaje, fue reconstruida en su estado original y expuesta al público. Acabó su actividad en los años sesenta, como caldera de vapor fija en Alicante.
