Description
English: Picture of the national day of mourning in the Netherlands at 23 July 2014, the day on what the first bodies of the Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 disaster returned in the Netherlands. After two military planes landed at Eindhoven Airport, a convoy of 40 hearses rode to a military base near Hilversum. On the A2 and A27 motorway, regular traffic was stopped by Dutch police. Tens of thousands of people honoured the victims on bridges across the motorways and on road shoulders, as was seen i.e. here in Utrecht.
