This map image could be re-created using vector graphics as an SVG file. This has several advantages; see Commons:Media for cleanup for more information. If an SVG form of this image is available, please upload it and afterwards replace this template with {{vector version available|new image name}}.

It is recommended to name the SVG file “Map displaying landlocked Burundi's strife with finding a suitable export route.svg”—then the template Vector version available (or Vva) does not need the new image name parameter.

Summary[edit]

Description
English: Landlocked Burundi is shown in blue. Its possible routes were either a) dependent on infrastructure of transit neighbour (Tanzania: orange) b) dependent on political relations with transit neighbour (Kenya: yellow) or c) dependent on internal stability of transit neighbour (Mozambique: Red). When all three routes were out of option, it had to rely on the port of Durban in South Africa (brown), reflecting the true traditional geographic notion of being landlocked burdened.
