Description
English: The soldiers of North Carolina's Regiment 73 are buried in this section of the Marietta (GA) Confederate Cemetery. Note the small, blank marble markers, most likely made necessary by the expediency with which the men were buried.

The Marietta Confederate Cemetery holds 3,000 soldiers from many Confederate states. These men were all killed in the state of Georgia during the Civil War (1861-1865). Most are in graves marked only by blank, upright marble markers surrounding larger markers identifying their regiments.
