עברית: תיאור סכמטי של המצב הקייצי הנפוץ באזור ישראל: אוויר קריר יחסית ולח מהים התיכון כבד יותר מזה היבש והחם המתמוכך מעליו. מפל הטמפ' בגבול שבין שתי השכבות הפוך (התחממות עם העליה בגובה), ולכן נקראת שכבה זו אינוורסיה (היפוך).
כשהאפיק הפרסי מתעמק והזרימה הימית המערבית - צפון מערבית בהשראתו נהיית דומיננטית יותר - האוויר הימי נדחף עמוק לפנים הארץ, שכבת האינוורסיה מגביהה, הלחות בחוף, יורדת ובהרים עולה, הטמפ' יורדות. במצב בו האפיק הפרסי נחלש, הזרימה הימית הלא מפותחת משאירה את שדירת ההר והאזורים הפנימיים של הארץ בתחום האוויר המתמוכך החם והיבש, ומישור החוף נמצא בתחום האוויר הימי שנכלא בשכבה מצומצמת יותר עקב האינוורסיה הנמוכה ומזג האוויר שם יהיה חם והביל. |
