Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Photo taken at the Royal Norwegian Navy Museum (Norwegian: Marinemuseet) in Horten:
  • Display mannequin wearing an naval officer's uniform for the Royal Norwegian Navy (Norwegian: Den Kongelige Norske Marine) from World War II. The jacket sleeves have rank distinctions for the rank of captain in the form of three gilded stripes or braids, the uppermost with a loop, around the forearm.

Marinemuseet is one of the world's oldest naval museums. The navy museum was founded in 1853 and has been in the old magazine on Karljohansvern since 1864. The "old department" is somewhat retained, but the museum has later grown to more than 2.000 sqm, rich in information and close proximity to the many models and objects.
