Description
English: Marree railway yard, on the Central Australia Railway, with a mixed train about 1950. Note on back of print includes: "Marree is an important centre on the Central Australia Railway and one of the largest livestock loading centres. It is the jumping-off place for the notorious Birdsville Track to South-West Queensland. The Ghan pauses in its weekly peregrinations between Copley and Alice Springs, N.T. in each direction. In this view taken before the advent of standard gauge, the old narrow gauge goods shed (since removed) can be seen".
