  • Dansk: Motivet er taget fra malerens forældres hus i Amaliegade (nuværende nr. 45) og viser udsigten forbi Flådens Leje mod Nyholm (vinduet findes endnu (jf. Rørbye-udstillingen 1981), men A.P. Møller/Mærsk-rederiets hovedbygning tager udsigten).

  • Dansk: Ikke på dødsboaultionerne efter Rørbye og hans kone i 1849 og 1860, formodentlig stadig i familieeje. Tilh. i 1901 og 1905 frk. J. F. Ipsen. Mellem 1921 og 1927 erhvervet af Johan Hansen. Auktion over Johan Hansens samling, auktion nr. VIII, Winkel & Magnussen, 31. maj 1933 kat. 159; her købt af Axel Bruun, Hellerup. Solgt hos Arne Bruun Rasmussen, auktion nr. 107, 1. september 1959, kat. 230; her købt af Benjamin Mørch. Af denne solgt i 1981 til Iselin Hermann. Af denne 22. december 1987 søgt sat på auktion i London, men salget standset 20. januar 1988 af Kulturværdiudvalget, som erhvervede maleriet 2. maj 1988. Overdraget til museet den 26. maj 1988.
