Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Maruyama Ōkyo. c. 1759. Kabuki Theatre at the Sijō Street. W 21.0 x H 16.3 cm. Ink and colors on paper. One of four small images stuck in a roll. Because it is placed upside down, it was created as an "image of glasses" to look with glasses combining a lens and a mirror. It is an extremely fine brush and finely drawn. Its style and dimensions are similar to the others megane-e. It is believed that this is the landscape calendar for 1759, during the performance "Sawamura Kunitaro Keisei Hanatorisan" written on the panel.
