Deutsch: Deutscher Maschinenkarabiner 42 (H), auch bekannt als der Mkb 42I (H). Der Mkb 42 (H) ist ein frühes deutsches Sturmgewehr, das 1940-41 von Hugo Schmeisser für die C. G. Haenel Waffen- und Fahrradfabrik im Zweiten Weltkrieg entworfen wurde. Der MKb 42 (H) und der weniger erfolgreiche Maschinenkarabiner 42 (W) der Walther Waffenfabrik AG waren Vorgänger des späteren Sturmgewehrs 44 oder StG 44. Das Exemplar auf dem Foto hat die Seriennummer 349 und ist Teil der Sammlungen des Swedish Army Museum.
English: A German Maschinenkarabiner 42(H), also known as the Mkb 42I(H). The Mkb 42(H) is an early German assault rifle that was designed in 1940-41 by Hugo Schmeisser working for C. G. Haenel Waffen und Fahrradfabrik during World War II. The MKb 42(H) along with the less successful Maschinenkarabiner 42(W) designed by Walther Waffenfabrik AG, were predecessors of the later Sturmgewehr 44 or StG 44 assault rifle. The specimen in the photo has serial number 349 and is part of the Swedish Army Museum collections. |
