| Description |
English: Mati ghoda (literal meaning earthen horse) is an earthen miniature horse that is made using the Terracotta process. They are often seen in modern day Odisha and other places that were part of the ancient Kalinga kingdom in front of gramadebati deulo (a sanctorium for a goddess which is generally located towards end of a village). People who believe in the goddess pray for bless them with several accomplishments, and when, they get fulfilled, visit the sanctorium to offer mati ghoda to the goddess. |
