Summary

[edit]
Description
English: There are numerous 'JC' concrete obelisks like this along the lines leading into the Central Railroad of New Jersey station in Jersey City, the 'end of the line' before trains were moved onto barges and floated across the Hudson River to Manhattan. The number (here, '26') indicated the distance to that station. Not sure if the 'H 16' represents Hoboken, also on the Hudson River.
