Summary

[edit]
Description Fig. 92. — Meckel's Diverticulum. (Schematic.) The diverticulum may pass off from the convex surface of the bowel at right angles or on a slant as here. In the latter case, if the slant be very acute, a valve-like opening may be the result. The mucosa of the small bowel and of the diverticulum is of exactly the same character. The omphalomesenteric vessels originate from the superior mesenteric vessels and pass over or under the bowel to reach the duct.
