Description
English: During Operation Torch, the US troops faced intense resistance from French Army in the region of Port-Lyautey in Morocco. This was due to the French High Commandment in Morocco who stayed loyal to Pétain. After 3 days of fierce fighting, finally the order came from French Commandment in North Africa to stop all hostilities against US and UK troops. Finally the cease-fire was decided on November 11th, 1942 at 4:00am and the french and american generals met to discuss surrender of the french troops and their enrollment in the allied forces.
Français : Durant l'opération Torch, les troupes américaines se heurtèrent à une résistance violente des forces françaises à Port-Lyautey au Maroc. cela était dû au fait que le haut-commandement français au Maroc était resté loyal au Maréchal Pétain. Après 3 jours de combats, l'ordre de cessez-le-feu arriva du haut-commandement français en Afrique du Nord et fut instauré le 11 novembre 1942 à 4h00. Les généraux français et américains se rencontrèrent pour discuter de la reddition des troupes françaises et leur passage dans les forces alliées.
