Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Bridge on the Meridian Highway in Pierce County, Nebraska; seen from the northeast. The bridge now carries county road 552 across the North Fork of the Elkhorn River. It is part of a 4.5-mile (7.2 km) segment of the highway that is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The bridge was constructed in 1915 by the Canton Bridge Company; it features Warren pony trusses. The green box atop the vertical corrugated pipe at the right, and the cylindrical structure with the conical top visible in silhouette at the left background, make up a USGS stream gaging station, no longer in use.
