Description
English: This is a scan of a herbarium specimen of the Lord Howe Island endemic tree Metrosideros sclerocarpa (Myrtaceae) in fruit. Collection details are as follows: "Game 69/280. Tree about 20 fet high, with gray flaking papery bark. By the edge of a stream about 100 yards from the sea near the mouth of Rocky Run, elevation about 50 feet. Sept. 1st 1969." The species occurs mainly near streams in the southern mountain forest at low to moderate elevation, and used to be named as M. villosa.
