MiXMONK De Amerikaanse slagwerker Joey Baron (Chet Baker, Stan Getz) bundelt in dit trio zijn krachten met de twee grootste Belgische talenten van de jongste twee generaties: saxofonist Robin Verheyen (Taxiwars) en pianist Bram De Looze (LABtrio). De naam zegt het al: het trio speelt voor de helft Thelonious Monk-repertoire, en voor de helft nieuwe, eigen composities. Naar aanleiding van de eeuwviering van de geboortedag van de grote Thelonious toerde het trio in 2017 met Monk-repertoire, waaruit een langdurige samenwerking voortvloeide. In maart 2019 verscheen het debuutalbum MiXMONK, die ze presenteerden tijdens Transition 2019. Written In Music schreef over het album: “Dit trio heeft zoveel energie en levensvreugd dat echt elke compositie een rake uitvoering krijgt. Het spel van de muzikanten is prachtig en samen onoverwinnelijk.
