| Description | Model of an ancient merchant ship in the Osaka museum of History. The ancient port of Naniwa located in the Osaka of yore became an important hub for maritime trade, with scores of vessels like this carrying produce from nearby areas. Notes about the historic port of Naniwa and a diorama showing trade through this port appear late rin this album.(see subsequent pictures). The impressive collections of the Osaka Museum of History are set on the upper floors of the building the facility is housed in while the lower floors are occupied by a restaurant, shop and spacious lobby. Museum visitors must first take the elevator to the top floor and then follow the exhibition route downwards. (Osaka, Japan, Apr/ May 2019) |
