(public display, Marion Union Station Association Museum, Marion, Ohio, USA) From exhibit signage: Model of Erie Railroad Engine # 2933 Erie Engine # 2933 became part of history when it was used to return the body of President Warren G. Harding for burial. This model was constructed by Paul Allan Croman in 1927-1928 at the age of 17-18. Paul lived on Mark Street at the time. He was born October 25, 1909 and died May 7, 1929 at the age of 19, the victim of a motorcycle accident. His brother, Robert Croman, preserved the model and gave it to the Marion Railroad Museum in June 2000. |
