Arbeiders van Stork ontketenen op 29 april 1943 de landelijke April-meistakingen.

In 1943 ontstaat hier de grootste vergeten staking uit onze geschiedenis. Honderdduizenden volgen het voorbeeld van de Storkianen. Het grootste massale volksverzet in bezet Europa.

April-mei 1943 is een keerpunt in de oorlog. De bezetter slaat de stakingen bloedig neer, ten koste van vele slachtoffers en vermisten. In Nederland neemt hierdoor het verzet toe.
